12. School friendly event
The 12th edition of School friendly event was played on the ICCF server from 20.10.2025 to 06.03.2026 at 4 boards (teacher+3 students under 19). Three schools from 2 countries – Greece and Poland – participated in the tournament. See more in previous post.
Unfortunately, there were many games lost on time, which proves the wrong management of time. This element of the game definitely needs to be improved. The tournament was directed by TMC (Tournament Management Committee).
Congratulations to the winner Zespół Szkół Technicznych (Ustroń, Poland), ahead of Liceum Ogólnokształcące nr 1 (Brodnica, Poland) Zespół Szkół Technicznych (Ustroń, Poland) and Lyceum of Karlovassi (Samos, Greece).

It was an interesting experience for both teachers and students. On the other hand, it was also very disappointing because all the games, except for the first board, where the teachers played, ended by exceeding time limit (ETL).
Therefore, I have decided to suspend the tournament indefinitely. It may return in 2027 or later, possibly in a different format, if at all.
