Olga Mikhailovna Sukhareva (born 15.03.1963 in Orenburg) is a Russian woman International Correspondence Chess Grandmaster. She is most famous being the 7th & 8th ICCF Women’s World Champion.
In 2007-2010 she triumphantly defended the title in the 8th Ladies World Championship final.
Olga says “Thanks to high technology and reserve of time a chess player can play stronger at correspondence chess than at OTB chess. A process of analysis of games looks like scientific research. However no engine can substitute for a human being.
One should treat losses as philosophically as possible. A game implies both wins and losses. The main idea is to learn from own mistakes.
Chess builds up person both intellectually and spiritually. It is a math problem presented as a game.
Chess is a mystery. However no one has solved it for two thousand years. It is the secret of attractiveness of this game!”
